Being a musician whose parents are hugely famous can have a share of perks, though we can agree this type of players have to prove more later on. Sure, they can easily churn out their debuts, yet they eventually reach the point, where they have to show they are more than their name. This might be the reason Dhani Harrison formed Thenewno2, since he wished to hide his name behind a faceless entity. The early works of the band did achieve this thanks to them sounding unlike anything Dhani's father did. Sure, you can point the similarities between their voices and the vicinity of their soundscapes might be close, though Thenewno2 felt something closer to the indie rock of the time than a possible modern revival of Fab Four.
I tell you that girl's gonna make you cry Oh-I tell you that girl's gonna make you cry She never had a reason and she don't know why But I tell you that girl's gonna make you cry Another night, Another day Waiting You're so far away girl Another night, Another day Waiting around You're so far away from me
Had a great time seeing ELO and Dhani Harrison in concert last night!!! :D Jeff Lynne and ELO were amazing!!! :D They sounded great and love how they mixed all the lighting, imagery, laser lights, into their performance and all the musicians were awesome especially the string section. My Mom went nuts during "Rockaria" as that's her favorite and the backup singer did amazing during the opera sections. They did so many hits and so awesome how they mix rock, opera, classical, and even disco into their music. Dhani was great too and so happy I finally got to see him after I got sick before his band's concert a couple years ago and missed it. Did a mix of his solo stuff and his band Thenewno2. Loved seeing him come out during ELO's set to do The Traveling Wilbury's "Handle Me With Care" with Jeff. I think his mom Olivia might have been at the show too as I saw on Instagram she was going to go to their last 2 concerts and there's only one left on this tour. :) So happy I got to see them.
