This gold-and-white sequined evening gown, designed by Bob Mackie, was first seen in 1995, worn by Sharon Stone as Ginger McKenna in 𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒐.   In 1996, Fran Drescher wore the same gown as Fran Fine on the television show 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒚, in the episode entitled 𝑽𝒂𝒍’𝒔 𝑩𝒐𝒚𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅.   @franfinedatabase confirms that the gowns are one and the same, not duplicates.   Learn more at Bit.ly/PostEd089

This striped Moschino waistcoat was first worn by Twiggy when she played Princess Georgina “Georgy” De La Rue in the short-lived 1991 television show 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔. Fran Drescher also starred on the show as Melissa Kirshner, and would later wear the waistcoat during the first season of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒚.   Brenda Cooper, the costume designer for 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒚, initially met Drescher while working as a costume supervisor for 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔. This vintage wool suit has had quite the journey. @palacecostumeofficial acquired the item from former president Lydon B. Johnson’s estate and had supposedly been owned by one of his mistresses, but which mistress is unknown, and no photo documentation of the suit being worn has been found at this point.   The suit was acquired from a Palace Costume for Madonna to wear in the 1996 film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical 𝑬𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒂, where she played the role of Eva Perón.   The suit was used the following year when it was worn by Fran Drescher as Fran Fine in the fourth season episode of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒚 entitled 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒊𝒄𝒆.   The suit ultimately went up for auction - find out more at Bit.ly/PostEd246
