hello! (or good evening, I don't know where you live) I'm having some issues with the "#mce_#temp_#url" glitch. while searching for a solution, I stumbled across your page / post. I tried it the way you described there but it didn't work. I wanted to ask if you've found something by now?
I never found a solution that didn’t come with its own problems, unfortunately. At first, the solution that worked was a custom tags page. All I had to do was put the labels and tag urls in the right spots of an html code, and the tags worked fine. I got a lot of my tags organized again that way.
Unfortunately, that didn’t stick either. I switched my tags page to the one I have now, and while for some reason it’s working, well… Lemme put it this way: When you put in a custom tags page, you copy the html code for that custom tags page, pick custom on the new page option, paste it in, then update preview, then save, then go back and add stuff in as you like.
Well, lately, I’ll add a new tag into the tags html code (and I double check that nothing else in the code has changed or been mis-typed) and update preview, and save. For a little while, all is well. And then when I go back a few days later to add a new tag, the html code is bunched up together and has chunks missing for no reason. And if I update preview and save it like that, suffice to say the tags page becomes completely broken.
For my main blog and writing blog, I’d almost gotten all the tags organized and working again, and then THAT happened. I checked to see if the “temp url glitch” had been fixed yet on the standard page format, but sadly that was not the case. The fact that both methods are now broken for me has pretty much halted my work on organizing my tags.
My only guess really is that the old-school theme I use for my main blog may have something to do with it, but it happened on my writing blog too, which has a recently-made theme. Another guess is that since I had one tags page lead to another at one point, that could have also caused the html code glitch. I don’t know. No one seems to know a permanent solution, and I’m not a coder, myself, so I wouldn’t know the first thing on how to make one.
Once I copy down all my page tags and such into a wordpad so I won’t have to search them all out again, I’m probably going to get a whole new main theme. As for the tags pages… I’m either going to switch to an old one I used (since I never had the html code glitch with it but replaced it because it was hard on the eyes) or keep the tags pages I have, but copy and paste the html code as I edit it, so the next time the html code glitches, I can just copy and paste the correct version in (it’d save frustration). If worse comes to worst, since links still work fine on normal posts themselves, I may have a tags page that is just a post full of tag links to in a listed format.
Sorry I don’t have a real solution for you. I’m in the same boat, and gotten more demotivated with every glitch. If you manage to find someone who has found a solution, please share.
