On day four of this lovely birthday celebration for our friend @limeandorange, it's my turn to post my chapter: Eris and Nesta write to each other mid-courtship!

I took the liberty of incorporating elements from your own universe, Lime, because as the unhinged superfan that I am, I simply had to. I hope you love it, and I hope I did your beautiful characters justice 🧡

Two I totally subscribe to:

Lucien is 100% born on Summer Solstice AKA the longest day of the year. Now the fae in ACOTAR seem to not put much on birthdays (no point when you're immortal I guess, but it's a massive shame because I want to know their zodiacs lol) but since Feyre is the main FMC of this series, and I'd bet my life on Lucien being the main MMC going forward (a la Chaol from TOG, plus he's tied to too many plots not to be), I think there's something really poetic about both the main characters (if not main then very significant) being born on the longest night and the longest day of the year.

Elain's Sight gets stronger when Lucien is around Now @themadmorrigan I know you're already on this train but the CARRANAM of it all is far too tempting to not consider for this couple. They're the pair to watch going forward and I totally see them being two of the most formidable characters in the series.

One head canon I'd be gassed to see come true but it wouldn't be awful if it didn't (CC spoilers ahead!)

Eris is a Bloodhound (like Danika from CC)

I have made him so in my fic TSIMH and I think there's so much that points to him having this kind of power.

1. I think this is how he knows Lucien is Helion's son from very very early on his life, maybe even during LOA's pregnancy.

2. I think he was able to tell something about Mor (unrelated to her sexuality, which he'd probably guessed) during that incident in the forest, possibly about her bloodline. She doesn't want that info getting out, and he doesn't want that info about his power getting out, and since her power is truth, they agree to keep each other's secrets (and hate each other forever...?) ((not a fully formed theory but we move)).

3. He knows things about everyone, and while I definitely put that down to him being very astute, I genuinely think he can just sniff out stuff about people. Both can be true I think!

4. He has 12 dogs 😂 I also picture Beron as wolf-ish, and while Lucien is our lovely fox, Eris is a hound dog! 🐺🦊🐶

🌫 Fog - What was the hardest part of your WIP to write?

So far, the wedding chapters 10/11 — I needed to give Elain a way out of the Night Court but at that point in my HC she wasn’t brave enough to ask to go, basically afraid of being told no.

But I also wanted her to actively make the choice to say yes, rather than just being told ‘you have to go’. I also really wanted Nesta and Eris to get their scheme on 😂

Generally I find flirting hard to write. I’m much better at flirting in person than I am on dating apps but then of course I don’t remember what I say. So it’s easier to describe the feeling rather than write the dialogue (even though I love writing dialogue generally).

Arguing is also tough. I’m not a confrontational person so tend to avoid arguing IRL, therefore I don’t think it comes naturally to me. #pathologicalpeoplepleaser

Smut. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it eh 😂

🌬 Wind - What was the easiest part of your WIP to write?

The opening chapter. I could visualise it really easily and the words just spilled out. I didn’t have to edit it much either before I was happy with it — hence why I just cracked open my old AO3 account and put it live!

☁️ Cloudy - What inspired you to start writing your WIP? (or in general)

So I have always loved writing — long essays at uni, blog posts for work etc. I love getting my teeth into something and getting editorial. But my day job requires me to be very straight to the point and I don’t have much wiggle room creatively. I guess fanfic would always find its way back to me eventually.
