this preview is taking me out, i saw the scene, i know what happens in it, i know it’s because Azuma is reminiscing about his past and how his brother used to pat his head, and then he gets startled because he didn’t see Guy approach to do the same realizing it must have meant a lot for Azuma, i’ve seen how as the scene continue, Azuma melts on the spot at the touch understanding what Guy is doing

Returning to a place he'd once called a TEMPORARY HOME certainly wasn't something that had ever crossed his mind until just recently. Too much pain had stemmed just from  MEMORIES of the area. The warmth of Urokodaki's small cabin, the bone-chilling cold of the steep mountain just a few steps away, the endless and heavy breaths of intensive training all brought on a dull ache to his heart. 

Thoughts of the past lead him  ASTRAY, causing emotional distance between himself and that forsaken land, one holding so much good within yet evoking unwanted emotions wherever they came to pass. Too many tears were shed over the lives lost, one in particular sticking out like a sore thumb, followed by another of the same volition ( your bias shows in these occasional passing thoughts, though you suppose it's only natural to mourn harder for those you knew rather than those you'd only heard of ).

The cool surface of the boulder sends  WAVES of nostalgia through his body, bringing comfort to the calloused skin at the base of his fingers — indicative of a particularly rough grip on the handle of his sword. He traces the line of the slice made into the boulder, reminiscent of Tanjiro's tales regarding the events of his training and how hard the boy had worked to get to the point where he could even pull something of that manner off. It causes a sense of familiarity to FLOOD into Giyuu’s chest — he'd been there before.

He notes that he had gotten distracted from the conversation at hand, snapping back to the present and blinking to the figure sitting beside him as he uttered words of  CONTENT at their reunion. The gentle tone still feels surreal. He still can't quite grasp who he's speaking to after all this time. It feels like a hopeful dream and though he'd pinched himself and slammed his head into the very boulder they were settled upon now ( much to Sabito's dismay, who reprimanded you afterwards ) to prove that he was, in fact, awake, it still felt odd.

Seconds  PASS as he takes the time to observe the other carefully, mind overflowing with thoughts as he does his best to find the right words to say in return. The sentiment is shared, of course, though anything that wants to come forth feels STUCK in his throat. There’s an inkling fear of saying the wrong thing, the fear of Sabito disappearing and being taken away again if he utters something unintentionally awful. 

After a few more moments, Giyuu swallows thickly before finally opening his mouth to speak up and give a reply “Yours too.”
