they are jewish by ethnicity, but not everyone practices the religion. xander is the only one who has the strongest connection to Judaism and he practices some of the orthodox rules, which also pleases max's ma

jameson doesn't really care much and doesn't put thought into it, but he participates in the holidays. he doesn't pray often, but he begged Hashem to help when avery went missing.

grayson despises antisemitism, meaning lyra is very protective when they're in public and she hears someone say an antisemetic statement. she isn't religious but participates in the holidays with him because she knows how important they are for him to relax.

nash takes it slightly more serious about it than jamie/gray, raising his children to be jewish. he also practices a few orthodox rules and goes to the synagogue often. he embraces the culture but sometimes is reminded of how tobias would tell them to keep the jewish culture alive, and feels guilty

-avery and libby grambs | german jewish (ethnic)

their surname has germanic origins, and there is a big stereotype for jewish people being rich LMAO. avery mightve had some influence from the few times ricky saw her as a child, but she only practices the religion with jamie. libby always wanted a reason to believe in a G-d when she was going through her toxic time with dr*ke, so when she saw how it brought peace to the hawthornes, she started to believe and LOVES hannukah celeberations with them.

her surname is irish, and she is a redhead, so... the irish-jewish population is small, but she is apart of that small percentage. she is orthodox and influenced xander a little bit with her views. she loved talking to libby about the religion when libby first came to hawthorne house as a reminder of the feeling you get embracing the culture. she's usually hard to reach on weekends because of Shabbat.

-gigi and savannah grayson | american jewish (ethnic)

idk if this is a hot take, but the tig fandom throws around the word "mysognisitc" FARRR too much (not sure if this is safe to say here because I've never really used this app). when somebody ships nalisa but doesn't like libby, it's mysognistic apparently, EVEN if the person they're attacking clearly states the reasons they don't like alisa aren't related to libby. it's the same vise versa when a libby fan hates alisa—people might call them mysognisitc despite their reasoning being that they were mean to libby, not because they're mad alisa was an ex.

and they also weaponize the word by ONLY using it when it benefits them. they are the same people who hate lyra because they ship averygray. personally, I find it a strong word and not to use just because you're mad somebody has an opposing opinion— especially if you're accusing someone while doing the same thing with a different ship. of COURSE there are plenty of people who genuinly mysognisitc, like those who hate savannah but like grayson. but that doesn't automatically make everyone involved with the ship. don't turn us into the boys of tommen fandom😂😂
