History (sort of?) Post: @thegriffonpub is one of the spots we visited when everyone in our group was desperately thirsty and low-blood sugar-like hungry. (We're in the south, but we're not in the suffering humidity south, so we weren't used to all that smolder) It's right off the coast and a local hidden gem in Charleston. The Griffon is a local Irish pub, with all the charm of... an Irish Pub, with tons--and I mean probably $25k worth of $1. bills. Much like The Burger Bar in Bristol, TN, their establishment is wallpapered with $1 dollar bills, except these date back 20+ years, before it got new owners in 1996. It has your basic bar food, sandwiches and beer of all kinds, and a mix of tourists and locals. π΄ββ οΈI haven't found history on the building itself, other than it may have been built around 1806, way past the Golden Pirate Age.
