When I started my drive across the country I wasn’t sure what my route was going to be but at some point along the ride it became clear that I had to make it to LA to see @obeygiant’s largest and most expansive show to date! I began collecting the work of #ShepardFairey over ten years ago and at this point he definitely takes up the largest percentage of the #HalopiggCollection of any artist. Due to the cross country move I wasn’t a buyer at this show but if I was there would have been way too many things I’d want anyway, like this entire wall of prints on wood. I’m going to be heading to Las Vegas this weekend for a short bit of respite. Don’t worry though, I won’t be dining out, going in public, or doing anything near people for that matter. I will be relaxing at the homie @bjkapp’s crib to celebrate his recent birthday and my upcoming one in chillness. To honor of my visit I’m going to post a bunch of pics from my past visits to sin city. These first pics are from 2011 when I went out to Vegas for my cousin @jkleb76’s wedding! I just found this epic shot of (L>R) @adam_wallacavage @obeygiant @amandafairey myself and @joerussophoto from #Obey’s 2012 @jonathanlevineprojects pop up in #AsburyPark! @ncourides I believe you flicked this? At this point I was already a pretty nerdy #ShepardFairey collector and my specialty was the #ObeyStickerArchive. I asked my fellow collectors on #TheGiantDotOrg, the #ObeyGiant online forum, if I should bring my collection for Shep to check out and I received a resounding yes. I had the stickers with me and was talking to #AdamWallacavage, famous for his @octopus_chandeliers amongst many other talents, and he asked if Shepard had ever seen them? I replied no and he immediately grabbed the #BinderFullOfStickers and took it over to Shepard. We stood there for at least 20/30 minutes as Shepard went through the entire collection telling me random facts about many of them.
