Nothing but a Nuisance || Marjorie & Daigo
@thefunkgoeson
In a small shop on the busiest street in Castelia did Marjorie find reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. At the moment, she was the only person in the shop, aside from a clerk that busied himself with several orders of flower arrangements scheduled for an upcoming delivery. Though the noise of the traffic from outside carried into the shop, she didn’t seem to mind it that much when there were all of these beautiful bouquets to admire.
“Your petals are so gorgeous. I wish I could take you home with me.” She appeared to be speaking to a display of hoary stocks as she admired their vibrant colors and helped herself to a whiff of the flowers of a light purple variety. A soft contented sigh escaped her lips after she took in the scent, feeling very much at peace in the moment. But it wouldn’t last long when a previously unnoticed Torchic darted past her and rammed its small body into the display.
CLANG!
One by one, several buckets of flowers met the floor and cold water spilled out everywhere while Marjorie backed away to avoid getting her feet soaked. The flowers suffered some damage from the impact, shedding a considerable amount of petals and bruising the ones that stayed on. Alerted to the ruckus, the clerk abandoned his work behind the counter, and walked to the scene of the incident with a clear look of annoyance and frustration on his face.
“I'm… I'm so sorry! I don't know how that happened!” Marjorie managed to get the words out while tears began to form in her eyes, feeling immense guilt for what happened and fearing the inevitable verbal smackdown from the shopkeeper. She immediately bent down to clear the floor, shakily grabbing the fallen merchandise from the floor and positioning the buckets upright. “I-I’ll clean it up! I’m really really sorry about this!”
Umm...
Katlyn was chilling under a tree, just outside the daycare in Solaceon town. The weather had been very nice the past few days, and it was nice to be back home from her recent travels. A delibird appeared in the sky above, swooping down to her. It perched on a nearby tree and dropped a letter into her lap. It was all lavender in colour with a stamp like her grandma use to use. “Well well well, we have mail from another region. Must be far if they used a delibird.” She opens it up and reads:
“Remember that old house in the forest? I found this up when we were there and I only came across it when I did some cleaning recently. -Morty”.
Inside a gift box is a shining Dragon Fang, almost like it had been polished recently. But the question filled her mind, who just was this, Morty? Katlyn just hoped her valentine to Daigo didn’t get lost, like the poor Morty one did.
We Didn’t Start The Fire
@thefunkgoeson
"You have it there folks, another scorcher in Castelia, marking day three of this unprecedented heatwav—” The radio devolves into static as Jac’s partner flips the station, scoffing for the umpteenth time. “Man DJ Mary could really teach these Unova broadcasters a thing or two!” Silver brows furrow behind the wheel of the police cruiser, attention still mercifully trained on the road ahead and not her whining partner in the passenger’s seat. “Sounds to me like you’re homesick Owen- The big city too much for ya?” The man groans in contempt. “No not at all! I love spending my entire shift sorting out the line at the Casteliacone stand.” Jac snorts, head shaking in disapproval. “Listen, you’ll miss the slow days once they’re gone.” It wasn’t Jac’s first year on the force facing a Castelia summer, usually when heat ravaged the city like this it was only a matter of time until tensions peaked and the more violent offenders came out to play.
—
When the call came for first due response at a nearby structural fire the duo jumped on the wire. "Delta Whiskey 417 receiving loud and clear Dispatch! PC Graves and Reyes en route.” With a flip of a switch the atmosphere changed. The siren wailed as Jac and Owen sat in electrifying silence, roaring towards the site, Jac’s muscle memory of the city’s streets unmatched.
They arrive moments after the first firetruck, and gauging by the billowing smoke and distant wailing of sirens it would be far from the last. The two spring into support mode, taking cues from the ranking firefighter to barricade the opposite street and keep inquisitive civilians at bay. This place had known affiliation to local gangs, and the responders already suspected malicious arson.
It took all of the young officer’s willpower to not act out as the scene unfolded. The firefighters took control. They were trained for this. They had the proper gear. They could handle it. With a steadying breath she let go her innate need to serve, her drive to be a hero, and shoved her useless feelings of helplessness to the side. It was time to instruct, to keep nearby citizens calm, Not to charge into a burning building and become a martyr.
Her train of thought is interrupted by commotion on the opposite end of the street. There’s a couple hurling insults and fists at each other, even from a distance Jac spots blood. She takes off, a lover’s quarrel? —The woman lands an audible crack to the man’s jaw sending him reeling— Ok, maybe a little more than that. “Dispatch I’ve got a 10-16 in progress- two adult perps one male one female, both appear mid twenties”
As the dispatcher crackles in response the man winds up one final blow, sending the woman to the pavement.
A heavy sigh.
“Request urgent medical, female suspect down.”
Before Jac can act the man surprises her: There’s no attempt to escape, her arrival is expected, his bloodied face unfazed as he makes himself a seat on the sidewalk. Her face glowers with recognition, Daigo Eizo- nothing more than some low-level thug that had regularly made himself a pest for the city. It made her blood boil. “Hands up where I can see them Eizo— Let’s make this nice and easy.”
👀 + Any regrets in life?
“Many.” Kahi breathed, mentally having flashbacks of everything she had regretted from the past to now. “I am trying to move on from those and if I could correct those mistakes…I would believe me, I would.

(Hey sorry to do this but school's been kicking my ass. Can i get a small hiatus?) Date 2/27
Don’t feel bad! School loves to kill people’s activity-- it happens, you know? It’s easy to get bogged down when you’ve got a million other things to do, so I think a break will be great for you. For now, we’ll put Dawn, Street Thug Daigo, and Rising Star Mimi on hiatus until March 14th. See you then! Take care!

Out with the old and in with the new! Isn't that what the cool kids are saying nowadays? Sorry Lance. Can I reserve a Female Rising Star? (Date: 2/16)
I like your moxie, kid! They always tell you to shoot for the stars, and you’re finally getting up and doing it! A bookworm like you is gonna make it, I just know it! Now, uh, would you mind waiving my library fees for me? I know a real go-getter like you would do something like that-- okay, fine! I’ll pay the two dollars! Just show some initiative and follow everyone on the Masterlist!
