Ok I may be way off base, but...I think Edgar basically is a creepy dude who wants to be a polygamist and marry all of these women. He used the fact that almost everyone Betty knows and loves is there (except for Jughead because my BB would never fall into that bullshit). Edgar needed to keep the female baby because he probably wants to make her one of his wives one day. (Literally so gross). I think Edgar also orchestrated Hal’s accident because he wants Betty to feel alone and isolated so he can recruit her for whatever creepy kink he has. There’s definitely more to it but that’s my initial reaction. (Also Evelyn could be charged for doing so many things with minors since she’s 26 ew)
