What a weekend! Part 1
12/4/17
This weekend was full of good food, good beer, and great times. The first Saturday of December we usually go to the West Cape May Christmas parade but I decided to skip the hustle and bustle of the that and just come home. Since we opted out of the parade I still wanted to something “Christmas-y”, and we made a plan to go see the Electrical Spectacle!
Last year we attended the Holiday Light Festival in Franklin Square Park and had a great time. Saturday I made the drive home from work and prepared to go out. We pregamed with Bonito Blonde Ale and Longfin Lager from Ballast Point- both of which ive never had- Bub scored them when I was at work and had them ready for a comparison. Obviously we are all about variety. Although both beers were good, 2 out of 2 bubs agree that the lager is better if we had to pick one. A light drinkable lager that wont get you slammered- coming in at 4.5% ABV.
We called an Uber and got some great views of the moon and the city on the way. Bubs try to notice everything and be thankful and realize the beauty. We arrived at the park around 7. There was a lot more people this year- however it was a Saturday- one of the first ones in December, and it wasn't freezing out- a perfect night. Immediately we headed straight for Squareburger- the line was pretty long. It took about 30 minutes to get food, we didn't mind because we could see the show from the line. The lights are choreographed to Christmas music, it starts every half hour. Be ready to wait or eat before before you come! We sat at a far away picnic bench near the Bolt of Lightening sculpture. The moon was shining bright over it so we tried to get as good of a picture as our phones would allow.
Next we headed for the beer garden, ordered a couple beers and some fresh hot donuts (a must try). This year they had a smores making station, and there is gingerbread house and cookie decorating available. We made our way outside and waited for a seat around the fire pit to open up. We had a nice time around the fire, meeting a few nice people and an adorable mini schnauzer names Mr. Tuffy. One of the last beers we tried was Leinenkugels Snowdrift Vanilla Porter and boy was it good! We are not usually big fans of Leine, but the porter is definitely worth a try- I feel like it was especially good outside near a fire on a winter night with my bub.
Just when I think it cant get any better- it always does! Paul and talked about what a great time we were having and how much we loved eachother. He said this “was the dopest chapter of his life”- SWOON! Its an honor to be bubs because we will continue to have the best times together and it will only get better! That's what happens when two bubs unite <3 . Just believe and let the good time roll- there is hope !!!
A good night was had by all- we headed home doe and some excellent bub snugs commenced.
