i certainly know what it’s like to stan a group that’s going through shit—i mean, my ult died a year ago and one of my favorite drummers will likely be testifying against his abusers in several hours. but because of that i’ve noticed a really interesting reaction to these issues that’s honestly kind of troubling.
i feel like people sometimes obsess over or fetishize shit idols are going through. i know it sounds extreme, but i’ve seen SO MANY people just focus on jonghyun’s death or the abuse theeastlight went through. of course those are important issues that have devastated fans, but they aren’t the only important aspects of these groups.
if an artist or group you like is going through some tough shit right now and it’s upsetting you, you aren’t alone—trust me, i’ve been feeling that for quite a long time. but please remember that their lives aren’t ONLY suffering and pain. you can still address these issues and acknowledge the good times as well.
i doubt you’d want to be defined by your problems, so don’t do that to idols
i know most of the internet stopped caring about theeastlight after like 3 days, but please remember that this isn’t something to be ignored. CHILDREN—as young as 11 or 12–were abused so badly at least one of them has been suicidal. and now 2 of them have to testify against at least one of their abusers in less than 24 hours.
they want this to change. not only for them, but for the industry as a whole. but because kpop stans stopped caring when it no longer got them any clout, that may not happen. i doubt any of my followers have the emotional attachment to tel that i do, but i really hope y’all won’t let these kids fall through the cracks and be forgotten even as they’re still going through things that no teenager should ever endure. your chance to make your voice matter is NOW. don’t fucking waste it.

it’s been forever since the first tel trial, and i still don’t know what to think. i’m glad that people are being held accountable for what these kids had to endure, but i know we haven’t seen the end of this. neither lawsuit is anywhere near settled, the arbitration hasn’t ended yet, and i have no idea how any of this will end. words can’t describe how relieved i am to have tel out of media line, but i know this is just the beginning.

It’s sad to think that this isn’t uncommon in the Kpop industry as well, there has been many claims of idols or trainees being sold for companies to make money/ get more deals.
yeah it’s bad like I heard there was a new gg that were born in 2010 and hopefully the management is working closely with their parents but also The East Light was probably something similar at conception and look what happened to them
