Inuyasha and Momo had parted ways for what was intended to be a brief period. A divide and conquer approach, if you would, to explore the area. Their most recent village to pass through had informed them of a portion of the forest that had been causing trouble for its people, a hotspot for demons even by this era's standards. They'd considered traveling together, but efficiency called for a different strategy. However they were to reconvene at the first sign of conflict.
For Momo, a whistle to alert Inuyasha of her location and need for assistance. For Inuyasha – well, for all his confidence in his ability, he had refused an SOS indicator of his own, but agreed to sniff her out if he found anything of interest before engaging in combat after an unnecessarily drawn out debate between the two ( at least, he agreed verbally if only to silence her ; whether he held to that stipulation or not had yet to be seen ).
As much of a handful as he could be, she'd definitely have been lost without him.
❝ ––––!! ❞ An airy aura – something unfamiliar – had caught her attention, but it had since amplified and condensed as though solidifying before her very eyes despite being enshrouded by trees. Momo darted to hide behind one's trunk, a preemptive measure in hopes not to disturb whatever being stood mere yards away from her. If it were a demon, it surely would have noticed her by now, may have even prepared a strike assuming she'd have continued forward. Yet the aura she sensed seemed to make no such move, rooted in place. Had she not seen it move prior, she might have assumed it was bound where it stood.
Her lips parted, a whistle readied but not drawn. Maybe if she inched closer for an actual look at its person first…
