Sometimes I have wondered this about ‘Measure of a Man’. I read it as a WIP, from like the first or second chapter being posted on AO3 and joined one of the first discord server channels for it to flail with others about it. Over a year and half of reading a story from start to finish — and a lot of minute (and some large) details were quite fuzzy by the end — I mean it’s like 600K words and I hardly ever read anything that long. Any story over 200K these days I side eye and put it back on my TBR.

But, helping with the dramatic reading after ‘Measure of a Man’ was completed, researching tidbits of extra thoughts and info from @inadaze22 for the most annotated typeset I’ll ever do, and now as I start my first official full reread — it just totally is worth it all. All the hype, and accolades, and praise, and every little and big flail it has gotten.

Every word — every line of prose — is just utter perfection. I will never stop loving this story and sharing about how amazing it is. I will never ever get over it. ‘Measure of a Man’ will forever be my favorite book ever. I will read this for the rest of my life. This sounds like an exaggeration but it’s not. It’s so good. And that’s not even touching on the fact that the fic and the community Ina (and K @dreamsofdramione ) created in her channel(s) and groups have also brought so much to my life.

I could go on and on, so I just wanted to send another love letter out to Ina for her beautiful self and for ‘Measure of a Man’.

If it doesn't set your soul on fire, it's not worth the burn.
