During the 1950s and 1960s, Vincent Price starred in a number of low-budget horror films. Much like B science fiction productions, B horror movies frequently reused costumes and props, often passing them between productions with little alteration. Two of Price’s best-known films from this period are 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑯𝒊𝒍𝒍 and 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒕. This distinctive negligee, recognizable by its unusual collar of intertwined fabric, appears in both films. The costume was first seen in 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑯𝒊𝒍𝒍, where it was worn by Carol Ohmart as Annabelle Loren. Later that same year, it was reused in 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒕, worn by the incomparable Agnes Moorehead as Cornelia van Gorder.
