"Sβa nice watch Stark."Β
Itβs a little scary just how much security he feels, how thereβs warmth in the voice of the artificial intelligence as the lights turn on when he walks to his living area. Itβs safety - itβs knowing that heβs not there any more. But the warmth he feels? That skewed idea ofΒ home? β He simply puts it on the slowly working fire of his fireplace.
After a small sigh he sits down on the couch and notices a black box that looks like itβs not supposed to be there.Β Curious, Tony opens it.
Tony. Thank god it wasnβt your time - Obadiah.
As he lifts the box in his hand, wonders if he should laugh. A watch and a really bad pun? Go figure, he thinks as he looks up, a few strange thoughts in his mind as he feels the cold metal face against his skin and the leather that presses against his wrist. He slides Β the band through the metal loop and stands.
Heβs pretty glad too, really, with what happened. His headβs a mess though, filled with doubts, a sick swirl in his stomach that makes him rather uncomfortable as his thoughts linger to the man that saved his life.Β
Iβm going to buy you more time.
He notices his fingers trembling slightly and decides he needs a distraction of sorts. Tony gets up, moves to throw his jacket onto the couch and walks to the window panes, noticing the slightly eerie silence apart from the indoor water feature.Β
Jarvisβ voice is somewhat distant as he looks out, something about having over a thousand messages. The screen appears on the pane and after he presses on it, slides his fingers against a few lights, he speaks.
Tony looks at the watch on his wrist, his fingers tapping on the face. He looks up at Clint. βItβs a little scuffed admittedly, but itβs good for reminding me that I should probably go eat.βΒ
Among a few other things.Β
