Hello. Regarding the fact that original works are or aren't allowed on AO3, I was wondering. Is my original horror story allowed on the site merely because I took inspiration from a Buzzfeed Unsolved video? This may seem an odd question and probably very specific, but I just realised that this precise work may not be allowed on the site.

Do you want to sell this story some day? Do you want to use it as advertising for your future for-pay work? Then maybe it doesn’t belong on AO3.

A friend of mine watched TWN and said it's actually boring, I suggested reading the books instead and she said it makes more sense than the show and books!Geralt is nicer. Insert surprised pikachu here.
thats great! honestly i mean i agree like even if you take away what is the “authentic” adaptation of the witcher, the show should at least be good entertainment and make sense. but the netflix adaptation is actually just boring and confusing too lol.
the books actually make sense...... well. its. if you’re a dope like me who has little reading comprehension when it comes to reading for fun, you might have to reread passages like 5 times to understand what happened, or look on r/wiedzmin for an explanation, or ask other fans, but you’ll get there, eventually... sometimes sapkowski is also vague but everything seems to work itself out, the short stories especially i think are not difficult to follow, it’s more like the later books which can have headache scenes............ but in general, they make sense, you might not get like 100% of every single deep theme and connection if you read it independently, but at least you can follow when things occur, why they occur, who all the characters are, what their motivations are...
and geralt is also a really persuasive reason to read the books instead. i whine a lot about his pessimism and loathing being depressing for a reader, but his pov is actually very nice to read, you get to understand a lot and tackle some heavy/deep topics while remaining grounded in the action, and geralts personality i feel really does shine through when you read his pov. unlike some adaptation of him........... that doesnt say his lines...... and when he does hes being rude as hell or disrespectful towards women...
