Happy New Years everyone!! 🎆

It's nothing fantastical, but it's a piece for myself and the many outfits I like designing. I realize this more chibi style is a good way to draw alternate outfits :)

🌻💚Today is a very special day for me in particular...it's officially been 10 years since I first created the very first OC to stick around the longest, Velva! 💚🌻

Of course I can't say she's the first character I've ever made, even if I can't remember the ones before her, I know Velva wasn't my very first creation. But even after all this time, she holds a lot of special meaning to me. It's not just a character birthday, or an anniversary, but this is an achievement. Not only does this achievement that mark a very early point in my art hobby that I still do to this day, but it marks just how far I've come since I was 11 (crazy right?! this makes me feel old). It's when I really started to take art seriously and dedicate big portions of my life to it.

In a way Velva was a character that was meant to be the kinds of friends I didn't have in my life at the time irl, someone goofy, caring, supportive. I got super lonely in middle school until about the 7th-8th grade. When big things happen in my life, I know making characters or a story is gonna cheer me right up. And that really all started with my sona, and Velva. She's always gonna be the BFF to my sona cause in a way Velva has been through so much with me. I never plan on replacing her for the world :3

Her alongside some of my other OCs (like Derpy, Ice, Cellcia, and Sprite) I made all those years ago really sparked those creative juices in me and have most likely led you to see me today, which...hi! I'm glad you're reading this. Some or most of you might not really know my older OCs like Velva. But I appreciate you tuning in and liking my art, despite me getting busier and busier in this sad reality that is being an adult.

I know I'm getting real sappy over a fictional character and my art but it's MY fictional character and art dammit!

Thank you for listening to my ted talk, and for the support. I hope to make many more art pieces forevermore in the future and I'll probably be just as shocked when Velva turns 20, so cheers for her! Happy 10th anniversary/birthday, Velva!

Somehow, I keep coming back every December 7th to draw more Sprite Cranberry, now with the new Limelite! ❤️💚 (I start to wonder if I end up drawing Sprite's Sprite Cranberry form more than her base design at this point LOL.)

Back in the ol Miiverse days long ago, I used to ship my OC Velva with Larry Koopa, to kinda match what I did with shipping my sona with Ludwig. I haven't touched this concept like, IN YEARS. So I finally had the two reunite, both are much more mature since they last saw each other.

Larry may still have lingering feelings, but he and Velva are friends once again ^^

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

A quick Velva I drew to answer an ask on my main blog :D While I'm here, I want to share a fun Velva fact: She has the last name Fircas! But the fun part about it is why that is, I originally wanted to write something really drastic with Velva cause she's my sona's BFF and really sweet. Perfect angst material. Being the edgy teenager I was, I don't remember if I wanted Velva to sacrifice her life or to just sacrifice a part of herself for my sona or what, but I'm not joking, Fircas is just part of sacrif-ice backwards. xD
