next up is The 57 Bus by Dashka Slater! brief synopsis: so basically, this book is like a documentary, except in novel form. there are two main characters, sasha and richard. they don’t know each other, but one mishap and suddenly sasha is covered in burns and richard has been charged with two hate crimes. what happened? everything is not as black and white as you think. there are many, many, shades of gray… review: in my opinion, this book was VERY good. i feel it’s very important to note that not everything is binary. not people, not situations. the world is most definitely not black and white. male and female. victim vs criminal. this book tells the true story of an act committed against and innocent person. not only is it insightful, it also goes into depth about topics not too many people know much about. i’ll even admit—this book called me out when talking about labels lol. it’s definitely worth the read, as you explore the many different sides of different people. i whole-heartedly recommend! 5/5 ⭐️ #bookreview #bookrec #bookstagram #bookrecommendation #the57bus #dashkaslater (at Oakland, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CacyluBrXho/?utm_medium=tumblr
