Just to add my two cents, as someone with a midsized presence here who has made a great deal of his living on tumblr: this change sucks. Tumblr's long-tailed engagement, I.e. the ability to still see that there are eyes on your work without having to post new stuff constantly, is THE REASON I have told so many artist friends that this place is my primary home. Without it, this website is useless to me (except for you all, I love you all dearly).

I've already submitted polite feedback and will continue to do so, because what this site had up until this update made it incredibly unique. It's vital to my career without exaggeration.
