So what would u write for an AU inspired by The bear

I haven’t watched The Bear, so this is based on a quick web search, a consult with @thesunpersists, and the overall vibe I get from the show (stress, Stress, STRESS)

As far as I can tell, ‘The Bear’ is a nickname/derived from the mc’s name and a metaphor, so following that logic the title would be a play on stone/rock and would feature Peeta struggling with his responsibility as the solid one holding the family together. And each chapter/episode would be a phrase with stone/rock: A rolling stone collects no moss, a rock and a hard place, kill two birds with one stone, a stones throw, leave no stone unturned, cast the first stone, sink like a stone

Having had a blowout with his mother, Peeta hasn’t been back ‘home’ in 10 years, but the death of his brother brings him home for the funeral - he’s in for a rude awakening when he discovers that the family bakery has been driven into the ground by his brother’s erratic behavior in his last few months. Peeta is an award winning pâtissier in the Capitol, but he must put his life there on hold when he realizes his brother had borrowed against Peeta’s bakery. If the family bakery fails - so does his own.

Peeta enlists the help of his friend and once stepbrother, Finnick Odair, as partner in the endeavor. Finnick agrees and brings along Katniss. Katniss is comfortable around no one, except Finnick, who she is especially unreserved around- Finnick and Katniss used date, but now are friends, just friends, best friends… their unconventional friendship is a sore spot for Peeta who develops feelings of Katniss pretty quickly but is convinced there are still feelings between her and Finnick (why else would she agree to move to the middle of no where with Finnick if she wasn’t secretly pining and hoping they’d get back together???)

Katniss has a ‘perfect palate’ and is a flavor wiz (sorry Maysilee)
