Abnormality Idea: The Confessional.

This was originally the weeping willow Abno that I wanted to give to L btw 😭 And them um some traumatic stuff came back to me and I figured it would go so hard to turn that tree this.

Originally her spines were going to be way bigger like this. I think this could be used like a second form? like the Brazen Bull's transforming.

The reason why she's a WAW is because this abnormality is kind of spatial. It can be as big as a church or as small as a coffin box. The nun you see is just an attendant, someone helps you repress or express your guilt. If she had a face, she would be crying.

I based her spine parts on the lionfish. It was a random idea, but then I think about how lionfish are an invasive species in many places because they were introduced as exotic pets by the rich and then released and became a huge problem to local wildlife. They have to be hunted with spears because their spines are venomous. But once you get past that, their meat is really tasty (so I've heard).

So like the lionfish, The Confessional is a brightly lit church with beautiful stained glass and colours filling the space, but the things they make you do is venomous and causing extinction on indigenous life. If the Abnormality performs repression work on you, this is what it would look like.

if you genuinely just wanna (maybe more passively?) enjoy stuff, there's definitely a way to do that i think and there's more people like you (sometimes they're more of a lurker, probably for the same reasons you may choose to be less outspoken - not sure if this is a wrong assumption though) and it will involve a lot of blocking and filtering (but ig that's no different than when you're part of any other "corner" or side of the fandom)

i think it's harder once you get deeper into fandom though and while there's a lot of fun and chaotic lore that you learn along the way, there's also some bad. and while all three have made public mistakes, i think it's increasingly more difficult to be an enthusiastic fan of j*red without at least some cognitive dissonance (at least once you get more familiar with his behavior). from my limited exposure to twitter it seems like there's this culture of toxic positivity there among a big group of fans who ignore all that or even defend him, sometimes just so they don't get excluded from a popular group of fans. so that's not what you'd want either, you wanna still be able to think for yourself as much as possible

(which i know might sound ironic coming from a destiel shipper on destiel tumblr, a community where in the past 6 years or so it's sort of the norm to not be a fan of jared and make fun of him sometimes. you'll just have to take my word for it when i say i came to a conclusion that aligned with my own values and where i draw the line for myself and how i choose to blog or not blog about everyone)

it's fine not to agree with your fellow fandom friends on every little thing! especially when it comes to the less serious or very deep-cut and vague fandom stuff

and you can still acknowledge they canonized destiel without personally being into it, you can even ignore canon altogether and play in the sandbox the way you prefer it. ultimately there's one interpretation of a relationship/dynamic/character for every fan cause there's so many facets and not even the writers agreed on everything.

it's hard to give advice to someone i don't know who's on anon cause i don't know the way you specifically wanna enjoy fandom, what your experiences have been or how long you've been here etc. there's also a difference between hardcore "stanning" of the actors, more casual fanship and/or studying them like bugs, and not caring about anything outside of the role(s) they play

anyway do whatever you want forever etc but if you find yourself at an impasse of some sort it's good to think sometimes about why this all came to be the way it is & which parts of it make sense to you and which things require more nuance
