At the end of the walkway is the huge entrance of The Cavern - a 220-metre marvel inspired by the ancient caves of Gunung Mulu National Park in Borneo. Toward the left bend, a few display cases of Madagascar Hissing Cockroach 🪳 (Gromphadorhina portentosa) but not for the faint of heart.
Before we make our way into the dark cave interior, remember to look up and check out the silhouette of the Sun Bear Profile Rocks. There were also underground lakes and limestone pools teeming with Soro Brook Carps (Neolissochilus soroides) and Blind Cave Fishes. 🐟
A little further inside, Cave Racer Snakes (Elaphe taeniura) or beauty rat snakes 🐍 might just fall from the ceiling onto you! Wander through captivating sections like the Drunken Forest and Racer Cave, and uncover the geological magic of flowstones, mineral deposits, and formations shaped over millennia!
