My thoughts on criticism in regards to tadc and specifically Jax.
1) there’s nothing wrong with a self insert in a cartoon
2) in no way does that mean the character is meant to be glamorized or used in a flattering or inappropriate way
3) yeah Jax is an asshole Goose is also an asshole. I know this, you know this, she knows this. It’s fine
4) I believe that’s the point
5) sometimes characters are assholes and that’s the end and beginning of it, even if they are complex. People are assholes irl too and that’s just. Kinda life. I find it satisfying in the way that Jax is still interesting and captivating given his whole arch. I feel like people confuse not liking something with thinking it’s bad, it’s obvious when they come up with excuses or just shit on the creator or whatever for things like this. And could you imagine people shitting on other creators for having self inserts or self inspired characters? That’s like every cartoon ever. Animation is art, not just entertainment. Get a grip.
6) characters that have similar aspects to you or would in theory be labeled as representation can be assholes just like in real life. Being lgbt doesn’t automatically make you less insufferable it just. Is. An aspect of being a person. Like having green eyes or something. That’s because being lgbt is a normal human trait.
7) you can still be an asshole, even if bad things happen to you. I cannot believe this needs to be said
8) it’s okay and normal to like characters that are assholes, they’re not real- just don’t ? Be an asshole? Dumbass?
All of these things are okay đź‘Ť :) idk how or why people point this out as a criticism towards the show, Jax, or goose
And I’ve said this before- there are other people who worked on this show, so don’t just shit on them, the show, or glitch because you don’t like gooseworx
All this being said, she needs a good paid vacation yall are doing way too much constantly. She was the realest bitch ever when she said yall are too young to watch cartoons
