today I was listening to "Bring Me to Life" on a running playlist and I went to myself
"huh, what was that other Evanescence hit from the same album, haven't heard that in ages but once upon a time it was everywhere, it was also in the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie, what was it'
well, had to check, and of fucking course it's "My Immortal"
meaning I have come to so associate the title with that godforsaken-but-iconic Harry Potter fic I've only read quotes from, I genuinely forgot it was also a song
#and the evanescence cd was the first cd i ever bought myself#it's not like this was before my time or that i never knew the music#even though i listened to it all the way through twice at best and then stuck to the hits#could not have named that song if my life or a jeopardy victory depended on it#the fic though? all too easy#that's... something#the happy few
