I love how Ellen and Amanda Ripley are both nobodies, though. They’re not technical experts or geniuses or famous people--they’re just grunts. Ellen Ripley is a freight hauler, working with the rest of the crew. She follows the orders and answers to Captain Dallas just like the rest of them. She works on a barge.

Amanda is just an engineer. When we meet her, she’s welding stuff. Her skills help her out. And she’s really just an orphan who is trying to make her way, working with whatever funds Weyland-Yutani gave her in her mothers’ absence and whatever Mama had raised and put into her account.

They’re nobodies.

But they’re still the heroes.
