These beautiful little flowers will be adorning many of our Mother's day pies. My Mom was a huge flower fan, to this day, my parent's flower gardens still stand years after they are gone through thanks to my cousin and his wife, who purchased our family home in Guelph, Ontario. They have lovely tended the gardens ever since. Putting a smile on my Mother’s face on Mother’s Day consisted of giving her flowers, a sappy card, fun and food together. I remember as a child, my older brother giving my Mom an ornamental Crabtree for Mother’s Day. The pleasure that the tree gave her was endless. That now huge tree decades later still adorns the front yard, having given pleasure to so many. It will bloom in late May, and tho I am thousands of miles away if I see that colour of flowering crab, I have to stop, and take a dozen images. My Mother’s Days, too, have always been around flowers and planting. What is it they say,” A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit.” I'm planting trees for Mother day. Happy Mother’s day to all those Mother’s out there, including those often forgotten. Those with empty arms and broken hearts, those who mother many with none to call their own, stepmothers, birthmothers and foster mothers. ”Mom” is the hardest job you will ever have, the greatest gift you will ever receive. #thanksma #missmymom https://www.instagram.com/p/B_7j9zjpkVB/?igshid=dhri6i9p6cyv
