They make me ill.....
Even more TFA Starbee!
I think it could be such an interesting discussion to think of autobots in TFA who were talked into reformats/reframes at the end of the war because their altmode and frametype was considered "too decepticon" (examples I like especially for this are Pharma and Whirl, tbh)
One can see how the overwhelming autobot propaganda in TFA is a direct product of the war, and it's interesting to think about all the characters who fall between the binary and how they integrate into cybertronian society (both for those of the past and the newer earthborn bots we see like the dinobots or the constructicons)

the monsters we create
Some old art (10/?)
2018
I was first introduced to Transformers in 2007 when the film came out and I really loved it and got introduced to the franchise because of it, ahhhh. From the TV series, my first one was Transformers: Armada. It was a great show, but truly I fell in love with Animated, even though I love the darker cartoons of the '00s and earlier, both in style and themes. But... TFA hooked me much more and I really fell in love with the style and designs in the show.
That said, olnately I wanted to make my own design for Ratchet's tfa based on idw, as well as my own interpretation of Pharma's design based on an existing one.
Unfortunately I never finished those two as I started to mentally burn out, in then I lost the sai2 files because my house burned down in 2024...
Since Pharma is canon to the TFA universe, I had the idea he has war frame coding in his CNA. His carrier was an Autobot civilian frame, and he mostly took after them in terms of optic color and color scheme, but his sire was a Seeker, which made him taller than most Autobots and granted him a jet alt-mode.
Now this scenario can go one of two ways;
1) It’s really no secret that Pharma is part war frame, which caused him to be scrutinized by most Autobots when they learned about it.
2) His carrier, knowing he would face prejudice from others because of his coding, urgently expressed the need for him to keep his parentage a secret from a young age. For most of his life, Pharma was able to prevent others from knowing, convincing them his alt-mode was that of a very slim, and fast vehicle.
However, whenever he looked to the sky, a part of him longed to transform into his given jet form and fly for hours on end. Forced to stay on the ground without ever spreading his wings properly would make him, pretty understandable, snippy and irritable to most bots. Add in the fact his own arrogance as a surgeon, and his control freak nature, he’s not very popular either way with his peers.
Then everything changes one day when he meets the Decepticon extremist himself… Tarn, leader of the DJD. Somehow, he discovered Pharma’s little secret. And, if he wants to keep his heritage unknown, it would be wise if he opened himself up to the idea of a “partnership” regarding T-cogs and transplants.
