On view now: Jenny Holzer (b. 1950) is perhaps best-known for her text-based art, which pairs powerful truisms with the visual language of advertising. In this work, Holzer’s direct tone of voice provokes the viewer to critically reflect on the text, which has been hand-painted as if it were on a store window or shop sign. To explore more works of art and image, visit “Word, Image & Domestic Dissent” now on view.
