With these smoky BBQ ribs, you can taste the strong and savory flavors of Texas. With just the right amount of seasoning and slow smoking, these ribs honor the BBQ tradition of the Lone Star State. Get the grill ready and make a delicious meal for yourself, your wife, and your mom.
Ingredients: 3 racks of baby back ribs. 1/4 cup of Texas-style dry rub seasoning. 1 cup of BBQ sauce preferably Texas-style. 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar. 1/4 cup of brown sugar. 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika. 1 tablespoon of garlic powder. 1 tablespoon of onion powder. Salt and black pepper to taste. Wood chips for smoking.
Instructions: Preheat your smoker or BBQ grill to 225F 107C. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor penetration. In a bowl, mix the dry rub seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub the seasoning mixture generously over the ribs, covering them evenly. Place the ribs on the preheated smoker or grill, adding wood chips for a smoky flavor. Maintain a consistent temperature and smoke for 3 hours, turning the ribs occasionally. While the ribs are smoking, mix BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until sugar dissolves. After 3 hours, brush the ribs with the BBQ sauce mixture, and continue smoking for an additional 1-2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 190F 88C. Remove the ribs from the smoker or grill, let them rest for 10 minutes, and then slice between the bones. Serve the Texas-style BBQ ribs with your favorite sides and extra BBQ sauce on the side.
