A relatively small carnivore found in the planet's jungles

Has a long and slinky frame, similar to a skink, worm, or ferret

Average length- ~3-5 ft (dependent on species)

Six-legged, digitigrade

Legs are very short and evenly spaced, ending in paws with 3 non-retractable claws

Mouth on underside of head, ring of sharp teeth for gnawing through armor

Eyes beady and small, primary sensory organ is two sensory stalks on the head

Finds food through scent and sound

Covered in thick scutes

Colors vary by species from yellows to reds

Patterning ranges from countershading to complex patterns of spots

Hunt smaller animals, which they overpower and eat live

Supplementary scavengers

Found on the ground or in trees

Species vary between solitary and social living

Solitary species give live birth once per year to 1-2 offspring who immediate go off on their own

Social species live in family groups consisting of a dominant mated pair and a few years' worth of offspring- these species tend to lay clutches of softshelled eggs, 4-6 at a time, twice a year

All species make a clicking noise to communicate with their own kind

Present no harm to locals, though can be a threat to the babies of smaller livestock in some areas, and occasionally as as pest eaters of preserved meat

One end result of this is that walls are fucking everywhere on Khoros.

Well, not everywhere. They don't tend towards border walls, because that shit historically tends to be in a lot of flux, but walled settlements are the norm. From cities to towns to villages to homesteads. All are more likely than not to have some form of wall, from grand constructions of metal and stone to rings of short earthen mounds to plants grown thick and purposeful.
