The Brilliance of Berene When my family and I visited Hamilton Russell in December, Anthony and @rossemul introduced me to @tesselaarsdalwines @berene8584, the founder of @tesselaarsdalwines has made waves for her phenomenal wine, but her story is truly moving. A child of former slaves, @berene8584 was the first person of colour to purchase land for the purpose of winemaking, with Anthony’s support and encouragement @tesselaarsdalwines has a rich history of its own, told with grace by Berene at @winex_2022. But her own story is moving in a myriad of waves. After working in the family home as the nanny, Anthony was so moved by Berene’s dynamism and excellence, that after she worked in the tasting room and in various parts of the Hamilton Russell wine business, they were motivated to help her to fund her investment in Tesselaarsdal While the wine is truly excellent, as you can see from the look on my face when I finally got to meet this powerhouse, Berene is truly excellent as well.
