This time we have a lot of details in this cover photo. We have the autopsy scars running across Secondo's chest, there's Omega and Alpha glamoured in the background, showcasing of Adriana and Carmela in red yes yes all good stuff... But we also have Secondo holding a Red Reverse Uno card to symbolize revenge. ๐ฅ Also! On the cover of Chapter 2: My Brothers, you can see Secondo holding that same card in his hand!! ๐คฏ ๐คฏ
Terzo and Omega
There already seemed to be... ah... SOMETHING between them already during their first meeting. ๐ Terzo's already fantasizing over the giant Ghoul (he wasn't referring to how big his fingers were by where he was looking btw... ๐) And once Omega laid his eyes on Terzo it was hard for him to look away! Even Terzo hearing Omega say his name for the first time sent a shiver up his spine! Ahh... do you guys believe of love at first sight? ๐ฅฐ
The Mortician's Practice
From what we know his business, it's ran out of a shitty little building in the middle of nowhere and he travels to the clergy whenever he's called in to prepare a body. This man is very unprofessional and sick. And even bothers to keep a shotgun by his front door. But why? ๐ค But who exactly does he work for? ...Himself... He picks up sketchy jobs and doesn't care the too much of how or why.
For example, the body he was prepping here... We'll name him Corey the Corpse. You can see poor Corey got his neck sliced open on the side in one shot. Corey was involved in a gang and ultimately met his demise during an ambush... The mortician doesn't care to ask the party who brought in the body if they reported his murder to the police. Everything is off the books and under the table... as long as the mortician gets his pay and has some fun, he doesn't care.... MAKE HIM SUFFER, BOYS!!! ๐
Why Did the Ghouls Glamour?
The mortician HAS seen Alpha and Omega before... in their Ghoul forms only though... Omega, as mentioned before in Chapter 6: Glass, has spoken to the mortician before. And then in Chapter 15: Role of Big Brother, Alpha states that him and Omega just saw the mortician because he has also prepped Sister's body! So for the element of surprise and confusion, the Ghouls Glamoured theirselves to buy Secondo enough time to find his way into the building then sneak up behind the mortician to disarm him before he could fight back in any way.

So, I was studying classical drawing techniques in my art classโyou know, starting with the skull, then layering on the muscles, and finally learning how light shapes the face with chiaroscuro. And suddenly, looking at Ghost's first three Papas, it all clicked. What if their iconic faces aren't just random cool designs, but a deliberate, artistic progressionโa perfect, three-part reveal of the very process I was learning?
It starts with Papa Emeritus I. He is the foundation, the absolute baseline beneath everything else: the human skull. Stripped of all flesh, he's the cold, elegant truth of our anatomy. A memento mori. Not just a "spooky skull," but the literal bone we all wear beneath our skin.
Then comes Papa Emeritus II. Where Primo revealed the bone, Secondo builds upon it the architecture of life. His makeup isn't a skullโit's the musculature, the sinew and form of a face. The cheekbones, the jaw, the suggestion of lips. Itโs like an anatomical drawing sprung to life. If Primo is death, then Secondo is the potential for life, the biological machine given shape.
And this culminates in Papa Emeritus III. His face is the masterstroke. Itโs neither bone nor muscle, but perception itself. His iconic paint is a study of light and shadow falling across a living face. Itโs chiaroscuro. Itโs the illusion of depth, expression, and character created purely by black and white. He is the spirit, the fleeting image we project and recognize in each other every day.
Think about it: Itโs a progression from the most solid (bone) to the most ethereal (light). From what we are (Primo), to how we are built (Secondo), to how we are seen (Terzo). It transforms their succession from a simple costume change into a profound artistic statement about identity, illusion, and what lies beneath the surface.
It makes Terzo, in his final perfection, not just a pope, but a ghost in the truest senseโan apparition of light and personality, born from the anatomy that came before him. I haven't been able to see them the same way since.
