hi, big fan of the terror parade art youve posted. i hope it’s okay if i ask a question! the collector seems to have a few different masks. do they affect what it can do, or are they purely aesthetic? are there any you haven’t drawn/posted?

hi, thank you for asking! Technically speaking, the collector only has the one mask, but Makinoi reshaped and painted it differently before every mission, sort of as a way to psych themself up/get in the right headspace.

While I don't think I've drawn every mask variation on the Collector, all five have definitely showed up in my art before since Mak just wears a smaller version of whatever the Collector has for a face during missions.

The matching masks are meant to show Makinoi's oneness with their mech, for better and for worse. On a mechanical level, they were Mak's Fine Remote Vehicle Control, and more abstractly, functioned as one of the spiritual mechanisms they used to graft a part of their soul to it.

Pictured above is Makinoi drinking a heavily spiked slurpee at 3am in an attempt to stop pondering whether or not gluesticking all their worst emotions memories and impulses to a war machine was a good call.

Okay here's what I think the premise of Terror Parade is. Take heaven and make into a cyberpunk dystopia where getting into heaven is not dissimilar to trying to immigrate to a country that you're at war with. But also it's Buddhist heaven, I think? Is this anything?
