Okay, so the surprise was character drawings, and I was originally going to release them all at the same time; however, there was a slight issue... I lost my drawing tablet again, and I can't make shit til I find it. Since I don't know how long that is going to take, here are the drawings of Terrene and Mira to tide y'all over! I will make an update post with the other drawings when I get the chance. Until then, enjoy y'all!!!!

Princess Terrene

Princess Terrene was originally the sole heir to the throne, the king's only child. That was until her father disinherited her after her half-brother's birth. It is said that an act of treason to secure her right to the throne was the reason for her disinheritance, and if that is the case, then you have found yourself the perfect weapon against the king.

HOW THEY GOT IN

They winded up getting in due to their superhero guardian, Terrene (Terra + Serene bc he is just a fusion of Captain Planet and Superman and I think I am CLEVER) who wrote them a letter of recommendation. 

BASICALLY-If you don’t have any special abilities and wish to attend the school, you have to be a sidekick for a preestablished hero. Honeycomb fell into this category. However, unlike many of the other sidekicks, who have special combat training or are super geniuses, they are rather...mundane. 

Because they helped Terrene...but not in battles. 

THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH TERRENE

They helped him with transitioning into human life and how to live day to day as a normal Earthling. This means they taught him how to tie his shoes, uses human tech, how to use the city bus as well as how to keep their secret identity separate from their alien one. 

Also they taught Terrene proper English slang...but really AAVE because I mean...you leave a little black kid with an alien who wants to learn how to communicate and you gonna come out a near decade later with an extraterrestrial that has been claimed by the black community. 

Since they’ve been knowing them since they were basically 8, Terrene is just another member of their family. Because Honeycomb was on good terms with Terrene, he in turn became a good friend of their grandmother, how had been raising the kid since they could barely walk due to tense parental circumstances. 

Because of this, Terrene winded up becoming the father figure they never really had (as well as a sort of mother figure occasionally) and practically took on the secret identity of Honeycomb’s adoptive dad. 

WHY HONEYCOMB IS ATTENDING HERO SCHOOL

Eventually, Honeycomb’s grandmother winded up passing away but during that time, guardian ship was transferred over to him. 

While that time has been great, it’s a bit rocky in terms of how other people interact with Honeycomb since Terrene isn’t that up to how humans really behave and so he doesn’t find Honeycomb’s abrasive need to punch bullies bad because it’s issuing out justice. And when Honeycomb states that some school work is a waste of time because they won’t need it later on in life, Terrene winds up often agreeing with them since he understands practical stuff, but not super technical things. 

Honeycomb barely made it out of highschool. Their grandmother passed away during the course of that portion of their life so if you add that in with their already “If it’s not important I do not care about this lesson” attitude, you get low grades and frequent office visits. Especially with the streak of getting in fights with bullies. This also means their social life is rocky since lots of the other kids view them as a loose canon, and parents would warn against hanging out with them due to their strange behavior.

Their grades were barely enough for them to graduate high school but add that in with having to apply to college, along with their reputation, and that means a lot of application essays. 

Honeycomb also didn’t give two shits about college and was fully ready to just go out and get a job. Terrene figured having them attend the hero school was exactly  what they needed. The kid always wanted to be a hero and so attending a whole university for it was exactly what they needed. Especially since that meant they’d not only pay attention but also have a much brighter future in a career they’d actually love. 

So Terrene wrote up the best recommendation letter he could...even though the school would have accepted Honeycomb in by default since Terrene is one of the big name heroes. 

Any side kick of an A class hero will be a brave addition to their school.

And they were...partially right.

Honeycomb is certainly brave...and also bold...and now that the bullies have super powers, that means they don’t feel nearly as bad when they punch them in the face. 

WHY ARE THEY CALLED HONEYCOMB?

They chose that as their superhero name because the shape of a honeycomb is purposely made so that it interlocks with the others around it to united into a larger structure

oh yeah btw i started making a comic a few months ago but i didn’t have the time or willpower to continue it
