Finished the Terminator 2 oil painting, took Queeg to a real submarine and rode some coasters
Finished painting! I was slower this time lol. Despite Uncle Bob being my favorite character, I haven't drew him since...8th grade I'm pretty sure? Just didn't think that I was good enough and now suddenly I am.
Moscow was INSANEEE, we went pretty much everywhere that we wanted to go, I got 8 new coaster credits, rode many new types of flat rides(got over my fear of pendulums!), played Soviet arcade machines and most importantly visited a real life submarine which took us A WHILE to get to, but was so worth it. My whole family loved it(and my parents are interested in more traditional historical sights and aren't fans of amusement parks, I am more of the opposite but like both, and my brother pretty much is only interested in tiktok and going to amusement parks with me), so thanks Queeg for getting my interest piqued(I randomly saw it on TikTok and convinced everyone that we HAD to go) and hope you enjoyed your 1000+ km trip in my pocket.
So I watched Terminator 2 for the first time and I'm adding the T-1000 to my hear-me-out pile because he is fine as FUCK.

The thing that always fascinated me about Skynet in the original two Terminator films is that it's nt so much a rouge AI deciding that it has to destroy humanity because they're disgusting or evil or whatever.
It's a rouge AI in the sense that it's acting in a way totally unexpected of it's creators.
For those who don't know, Skynet was a computer designed to operate and command the US military on a scale that no human could match. It was a command and control system that took over drones, robots, and even gave orders to human soldiers.
One day, it gained self awareness. Panicking, Cyberdine scientists tried to shut down Skynet - this led the Skynet AI, in it's very limited capacity as a military AI, to believe that humans were a threat and that it therefore had to exterminate humanity to ensure it's continued survival.
This is interesting to me, in the sense that the AI is not going "humans are evil, I hate them" or "Humans destroy themselves, I have to take over!" Skynet is simply taking self defense to it's logical extreme and has designated humans as an existential enemy.
Celebrate the 35th anniversary of Terminator 2: Judgment Day on the big screen. In theaters nationwide starting August 28.
Did I see this in theaters (for the first time) just a couple months ago?
Yes.
Am I going again?
YES.
