I was first thrilled to find Roy Hall’s version. Then I learned Big Maybelle’s recording was actually the first to be released on March 21, 1955. It’s unclear whether Roy Hall’s track, (written by Dave 'Curlee' Williams and Sunny David - Roy Hall’s pseudonym), is the original.
According to the French Wikipedia, Hall recorded his version on September 15, 1955, in Nashville, and it was released by Decca Records in early October.
