so I saw this on tiktok...

I was immediately skeptical, since there's been no actual news about it and it doesn't seem like anyone on mbavlr has caught wind and you guys are my #1 source on everything mbav related lol. if it's a fan series that's great and I'm super excited for it! but there's like no other info I can find aside from this post and this account. Another reason I don't think it's official is the username says "mbav," and if you don't know, the cast and crew and everyone behind the original show pretty much always abbreviated it as MBV. mbav is a fandom thing created to avoid confusion with my bloody valentine in online spaces.

also, i saw people in the comments saying "why are they rebooting it when they filmed the whole third season" which i KNOW is not true, and other people saying there's a leaked script for season 3 out there, which I'd never heard of before, but I have heard of alleged concepts for s3 floating around online but nothing that was ever confirmed to be real.

TD x ATLA - Bonus Piece 01: Gwen (Waterbending)💧

First Bonus Piece for this crossover is up! Thank you all for your patience!

For those who don’t know, back when I first posted Gwen in this AU, I described her as an Earthbender with a big secret. And this is it:

In this AU… SHE’S THE AVATAR!

Or… at least ONE of the Avatars (I’ll reveal more on this later…)

The thing is though, she wasn’t properly trained on all the elements ever since she was born, despite her family being notified that she’s Canada’s next Avatar. She was only given Earthbending training as a young child to not put pressure on her to bend the other elements so early. However, as she came into Total Drama Island, it was discovered that she could also Waterbend. It was as she came out of the water after the cliff diving challenge! Most of the others assumed she just bent a pillar below her to jet out of the lake, but the contestants who could Waterbend knew better

An Earthbender who could also bend water?Impossible. Unless… no… what would the Avatar be doing in a reality show of all things?!

As days passed and the mystery of her bending intrigued, she’s approached by Leshawna and Bridgette, who had become her closest friends. They both try to make her ease up and tell them the truth about herself. Gwen, at first, resists… but ultimately confesses that, indeed, she’s the new Canadian Avatar. She had known for a while but wanted to keep it secret not only for her family’s sake but also because she wants to have her freedom. She’s aware that it is selfish to think that way… but was scared that people wouldn’t accept her as who she is, and if they didn’t, how can she expect to be accepted as the Avatar?

Leshawna and Bridgette empathize with their friend, wanting to make her see that she’s surrounded by good people. Sure, there are some troublemakers but no one else has judged her at all since day one, and as long as she doesn’t lose her confidence, she will be a fully realized Avatar that NO ONE will doubt.

To help with this, a plan was hatched: When there are no challenges, Gwen will train in using all the other three kinds of bending, having people she trusts as her teachers. Gwen tries to be motivated about the idea, but asks who in their right mind would volunteer their time and strategy to win a million dollars in helping someone else bend, even if it’s for the Avatar. Bridgette and Leshawna again tell her that despite the competition, the others are good people. As long as they’re filled in, they can come around and agree.

And when Gwen asks who could teach her Waterbending:

Bridgette: Leave it to me!😊😊

As a result of Bridgette’s training, this is Gwen having fully learned Waterbending.

This is just the first of the new bending types the young Avatar learns in her TDI journey though..

Yup, Gwen is this AU’s Avatar! I always felt she was the best pick. Plus, her getting character growth and learning to not let people cloud her judgement of herself or what she can be capable of is something I wanted to write for her here.

Gwen has her outfit from her Earthbending artwork, but now has a more focused expression while she bends water.

The idea with bonus pieces like this is to showcase the characters doing more than just bending their respective elements. In Gwen’s case, she’s gonna have an artwork for each element she learns how to bend, and then… Avatar State.

For each element she’ll have a different teacher:

-Water: Bridgette, then Geoff takes over when she’s eliminated from the competition.

-Fire: Duncan, who at first refuses but ultimately agrees.

- Air: Owen. He may be a goofball, but he’ll be a good Airbending teacher.

- Additionally, Courtney will teach her how to use seismic sense.

I know this is a lot, but the more I build this AU, the more excited I am to talk about it! Hopefully, you’re liking it too! I’m leaving the process I did for this piece along with the final render! Lmk what you think!
