it suddenly hit me – but picture diomedes returning to ithaca in haste because of what athena has told him about his wife crossdressing across achaea, and so when he enters the palace in ithaca, telemache throws herself at him like "husband!!!" and odysseus who is in his beggar disguise is just tweaking watching these two together like "HUSBAND??????"
Oh my god yes and between how worried he was about Telemache being out on her own and how much he missed his lovely bifauxnen it's full lift up into his arms with her sort of hopping up into his arms and him catching her like nobody is even there. (lol he is) Odysseus is SEETHING as some suitor leans in and makes it worse like "Oh what did you think you had a chance? lol no apparently the war hero snatched that one up ages ago."
