Frida Kahlo, "Self Portrait as a Tehuana", 1943. This painting is also known as: "Diego in My Thoughts" and "Thinking of Diego". "Magdalena Frida Carmen Kahlo y Calderón (1907 - 1954), aka Frida Kahlo, was a Mexican painter. Her work revolves around her experiences. She created a total of 150 works, mainly self-portraits, in which she projected her difficulties in surviving. She is also considered a pop icon of Mexican culture." In this portrait she is wearing Mexican traditional Tehuana costume.

Mayito usa orgullosamente el vestido de Tehuana. Originarios de Tehuantepec Oaxaca. Es un Huipil que se usa cotidianamente de tela satinada, de algodón o terciopelo, que está bordado a mano y lleva una enagua sencilla, en la cabeza se hacen trenzas con listones y flores naturales. Es uno de los vestidos más famosos de México y Mayito al usarlo la llena de mucha confianza.
Mayito proudly wears the Tehuana dress. Originally from Tehuantepec, Oaxaca. It is a Huipil that is worn daily, made of satin, cotton or velvet fabric, which is hand embroidered and has a simple petticoat. On the head braids are made with ribbons and natural flowers. It is one of the most famous dresses in Mexico and Mayito is filled with confidence when wearing it.
