After listening to Bowie’s Young Americans I did some poking around online to learn more about Philadelphia Soul, which led me inevitably back to Teddy Pendergrass. I got this record for $2 from Other Music in NYC on my honeymoon eleven years ago (my husband was and continues to be very patient with me). But I didn’t super connect with it at the time. I listened more to its immediate predecessor, TP. It hit me a lot better today after listening to Philly Soul playlists online, think I’m ready to dive into it (and many similar records) now!
