chapter 8 / start from beginning
summary:
Ambassador Ted Lasso isn’t new to politics, but his bodyguard Rebecca Welton quickly discovers he has his own way of doing things. Ways that make her job a whole lot more complicated.
chapter eight excerpt:
“Goodnight, Rebecca. I like your dress,” Henry says quietly. He leans back against his dad and looks up at him a little shy. Henry’s grown so much this summer, but there are moments where he looks so young, clinging to his dad’s legs for that little bit of extra support. “It’s a good dress,” Ted says, his eyes following the length of the familiar silhouette. His gaze pauses for a brief moment at the bit of bare skin peeking out from the open slit. Rebecca flushes remembering the last time she wore this dress around Ted. It seemed like a simple choice when she put it on at home. Why change what worked the first time? You knew exactly what you were doing. A voice that sounds oddly like Keeley whispers in her head. She dismisses the thought. It’s a good dress. She deserves to feel good tonight. Any ulterior motive is a figment of hypothetical Keeley’s mind.
