In a July lawsuit filed in a Texas district court, lawyers for the company accused Aleksandr Shulgin, a former xAI technician subcontractor, of violating a nondisclosure agreement by taking unauthorized photos of the data center’s interior and sharing them online. They also described Shulgin as a “foreign national” with a “Russian” online presence.

It’s come out that Elon Musk’s AI supercomputer used by military is secretly using Chinese hardware that’s likely compromised and doing who knows what. I think the government should stop giving this guy’s companies government contracts. This tech tycoon is untrustworthy and suspect.

Many sensible people think these tech IPOs look like a scam or a potential disaster. And that’s because anyone level headed and living in the real world can easily spot that these tech execs are delusional, selfish, out of touch, and don’t really know what they’re doing. They shouldn’t under any circumstances be allowed to ruin the rest of us.

My letter to reps:

I don’t think retirement accounts should be forced to buy shares of SpaceX & Anthropic, or any of these other tech companies led by unstable tech tycoons with infinitely more money than sense. They are ruining everything, and I don’t think taxpayer money should go to these companies, and I don’t think representatives of the people should be allowed to profit based on corporate welfare and funneling taxpayer money to buy them so they can buy yachts and politicians. I think their government contracts should be cancelled. Immediately. And these companies should be shoved in the dustbin as history as they are garbage and this is another financial crisis waiting to happen, and in my experience, the rich aholes are the ones who get bailed out while the rest of us have to eat it. No thanks. Put a stop to this corruption of our society or step aside and let someone else stand up and do what’s needed.

This is straight out of the anti public health and climate denial legislative playbook.

Unfortunately in Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is forcing AI tools into state government and I'm sure employees feel pressured to use such "tools" even if they do damage, because they want to keep their jobs after all, by keeping their deadlines. The incentive usually being to get things done, not necessarily do things right — and chatbots have the uncanny ability to make things look and sound believable even when they're incorrect. In my opinion, this technology belongs nowhere near the people's business.

AI and chatbots absolutely need regulation and oversight. And if the feds won't, the states have a right and a responsibility to do so. The idea of handcuffing us from protecting anyone is like saying you want dirty drinking water. I don't want this everywhere. AI is an out of control financial bubble wasting fossil fuel. It outputs inaccurate information, causing threats to patient safety in healthcare settings and has directly led to illness and even death. An AI generated foraging book told people to eat poison mushrooms. Fake childrens books full of nonsense. It can't even do what they say. It seems only to be able to create convincing sounding BS, use energy and water and land that communities desperately need. And it's functioning as an Oracle of Chatbot thing where unwitting people are being told they're connected to a spirit in the universe. Some would surely call this blasphemy. The pope himself has specifically called out the need to defend human dignity against AI. So why do politicians think they should stifle the freedom to protect communities?

It’s also a total lie that people “behave better when they’re being watched”. People do all sorts of things with video cameras & phones pointed straight at them. They do it even with big signs up blatantly warning that there is video surveillance, and they continue with their actions even as multiple people are recording them with their phones. Mass surveillance is merely just intrusive and abusive to innocent people, and leads to information gathered that can be used for terrible and criminal acts against those surveilled.

But you know silicon valley tech tycoons and whatnot keep asserting this lie. I guess maybe they just like watching people because they’re creeps but don’t want to admit that.
