Lance is horrible with technology. It has gotten to the point where it seems like he is cursed. All his appliances have a short lifetime warranty because of his inability to maintain the equipments / use them properly.
His latest victim has been an 82-inch Samsung TV. He followed the steps exactly as they were stated in the instruction manual but it still wouldn't work.
He calls up the store he got the TV from and they send in a representative - Keith - to check it out.
Keith is all cheerful and is just doing his job but Lance is prickly because of his past experience with technicians. He's just tired of constantly looking stupid in front of people.
Keith scrunches his brow but doesn't push it any further. It happens. People start acting defensively or simply have a bad day. He sticks to doing his job and not pay much attention to Lance (no matter how cute he looks with his scrunchy nose).
Turns out Lance had gotten a couple of wires mixed up. It was a simple fix for Keith which he got done in about 15 minutes. Lance feels even more embarrassed and starts mumbling out apologies; his face is red and heated and can't bring himself to look Keith in the eye.
Keith puts a hand on his shoulder, "Hey man," Lance gasps and looks up. "It's alright. It happens. We're not all perfect. So what if you're not good at tech. You must be a pro in other areas. And besides that's what tech support is after all."
Lance feels a gooey warmness bubble in his tummy. He smiles sheepishly and sees Keith off. Keith gives Lance his card in case he needs any more help in the future. He makes a mental note of calling up the store and giving Keith an excellent review for his service.
