Tempest was created by accident when his parents were having relations and Scourge imbued Mephiles with too much chaos energy, resulting in a crystalline polyp growing from him. Not quite sure what to do with it, but seeing that it was moving, Scourge and Mephiles took care of it almost like a plant to see what would happen and soon, the crystals hardened into something resembling a hedgehog that began acting like a toddler. Scourge named the toddler crystal Tempest, which just seemed to complete the creation process and soon, a fully fledged hedgehog was beginning to bounce around their penthouse.

Tempest is an only child and is spoiled terribly by his parents, although Mephiles pretends he doesn’t. As he grew, he found himself drawn to the tech world, tinkering with robots starting at 10, creating his first app when he was 15, and going from there. He creates tech, gear, and software for his dads’ company that helps them crush all competition and enjoys the freedom to do whatever he wants in his free time. Usually, he torments his peers with his latest, more unhinged creations. Both Tails and Dr. Eggman find him amazingly annoying.
