Our Young Change Maker representative for the Games, Rania Herlina (Singaporean fencer. lady in photo 1), guided us on a tour of the Athletes’ Village today. We had the chance to visit our athletes at their rooms and view the different activations available such as the Athlete 365 tents (educating and advising athletes on their sporting careers). We also took the chance to have a meal with the athletes and their coaches at the dining hall. It was good to catch up with #TeamSG and to check in on how they were doing. I’m glad that the athletes are well cared for and in good spirits! Caught Kampton Kam in action at the Youth Olympic Games as he took on the Men’s High Jump event for Athletics. The conditions were not easy as temperatures were low and it was drizzling 🌧. In that spirit, our youth athletes have the opportunity to team up with counterparts from other countries to compete in events. 🤝 This enables them to develop friendships and learn from other cultures. For example, shuttlers @jaslynjj and @joel_koh88; shooter @amandaaaaa_20 ; triathlete @emmamiddleditch ; and gymnast @tamaraong joined others from countries like Indonesia, Dominican Republic, Great Britain, Chile, China, El Salvador, Algeria, Peru etc. for their respective Mixed Relay/Teams. Tamara also won a gold medal with Vietnam and Spain in the Gymnastics multi-discipline team event.
