"Wendy, the eldest, not only believed, she was the supreme authority on Peter Pan and all his marvelous adventures." 📖 ⠀ .⠀ still is from my music video for #NeverlandForChristmas directed by @songstaforlife. The very 1st time I saw the video altogether, I was in my (I think 2nd week of) pure vocal rest after surgery. Brandon and Amy (@theharmonyaddict) brought us an amazing homemade dinner & then Brandon hooked up his computer to our tv to show us the first cut of the vid. I got goosebumps, I cried & I had to type out my excitement using my text to speech app! It was SO hard not being able to verbally communicate how excited I was! BJ, Brandon & Amy all kept cracking up when I typed out "I love the Wendy shot!" It was such a simple scene compared to everything else we shot (and everything else magical Brandon added in post!) but this moment in the vid felt so special and heartfelt. I love that when I look at it I don't see me in a costume, I just see Wendy reading a fairytale in her nursery. We almost didn't include Wendy in the video at all, because our amazing little star Miley @thereal_miley_tinythunder was essentially our Wendy character, but I'm so happy that we got to sneak one more of my favorite classics in, in a sweet, subtle way. This was the 1st time I've ever dressed up like Wendy, even tho she's long been one of my absolute favorites. But for this I really didn't want to see myself in a cosplay-I felt like showing a face in this moment would be too distracting. I just wanted to see a little girl who grew older, but never grew up, and never stopped dreaming. ☁️And there she is! That beautiful book is #thefaeriehandbook by @carolynturgeon & @faeriemagazine, lovely costume by @glimmerwood, wig by @jmillsmakeupandhair and shoutout to my girl @jasmineladjevardi for letting me borrow her bow at the 9th hour when we realized we were missing one! All of my amazing friends (everyone tagged & so many more) who helped out on this project are the literal best! 5 DAYS TILL #NEVERLANDFORCHRISTMAS❗️Today's feature goes to the Captain himself...Captain Hook! Our Hook was portrayed by my incredibly versatile character-actor friend @madhatterboy! As well as flawlessly portraying characters, Connor also is a costumer (Fun fact: he made my Mary Poppins costume!) and he self-applies his own SFX makeup! He did his own makeup & costuming for Hook, and ever since I saw him cosplay him for the 1st time years ago, I knew he was the person I wanted to bring Hook to life in this video! He brings the perfect blend of comedy, regality & just a touch of evil! I can't wait for you guys to see him in the video! I got an extra dose of pixie dust this week ✨first with finally getting to release #NeverlandForChristmas after 5 yrs. of dreaming about it, (link in bio! Watch it if you haven't already- I think it'll make you smile!💫) and also getting the most amazing news ever from my doctor yesterday at my post-op appointment: my recovery is going beautifully & I am healing perfectly so far! 😱😭🙏🏻I am so so grateful & excited! After a really difficult year, this is a very happy ending. 3 DAYS TILL #NeverlandForChristmas!!! ❄️ Originally Wendy wasn't going to be in the video (after all, this is about a different little girl's adventure in Neverland 😉) But I couldn't resist sneaking one of my favorite Disney characters in for a cameo...the Wendy shot in the video is one of my favorites. It's so nostalgic! I didn't have budget to design & create a costume just for one small cameo this time, (even though oh how I wanted to!) but @glimmerwood made me SO happy letting me borrow her beautiful Wendy costume for the video, along w/Tink! @jasmineladjevardi hooked me up w/her perfect Wendy bow (also by @glimmerwood) & my wig is of course by my fav hairstylist @jmillsmakeupandhair 💙 I've never cosplayed Wendy before...unless you count all those times I put on my blue satin nightgown as a kid & played pretend! 😉 BJ took some photos the day we shot the Wendy scene, so I'll share those soon.
