This is the worst quarter bc it is so boring. I am trying my best to make this funny and as interesting as it can be but bleh.

the kids have been driving me insane
they legit have no respect for adults anymore and their parents don't enforce consequences at all
so now the one thing *i* was excited to give to them will not happen this week bc i cannot let them treat me like this
im so burnt out from education and im not even done w my second year as a teacher. i cant be a parent to 16+ kids (my class and all the others i have to interact with)
I fucking hate my teacher. She’s so annoying. She’s unorganized, stupid, and ugly.
She barely shows up to class and gives us a bunch of homework and not enough time to finish it.
She’s not even good at teaching. She teaches off of slides that aren’t even made by her. Instead of making us take actual notes, she has us doing fill in the blanks kind of stuff. Who the hell can even learn from those types of notes?????
She has this notebook we’re supposed to fill out with the slides she gives us, but the pages are all messed up. They aren’t in the right order and it makes it even more of a pain in the ass to fill out than it already is.
She makes everything inconvenient. She makes us submit our notes as files instead of just a picture like every other teacher. She’s so picky and if we don’t submit the notes EXACTLY how she wants them then she’ll take points off.
She acts like she knows everything and like she’s better than you. She’s so ignorant and arrogant, it makes me want to punch her. She looks like a rat and sounds like one too. “SqUEaK sQuEAk SqUeAk” that’s all I ever hear from her. She’s so annoying all she does is make me want to tear my eyes out and cut my ears off. She’s only in her 40’s, but she looks like she on her death bed.
Idk, maybe I’m biased because I don’t like her. Anyway, I hope she gets fired! 😃😒
So as it turns out my students' reading comprehension is abysmal. I had them do a simple assignment: read these quotes from these Grecian philosophers and explain what they mean. The quotes were all one liners, most of them used very simple wording, nearly everyone got them wrong.
The quote "be kind, for everyone is fighting a battle you do not know"? They, for some reason, assumed it meant "be kind even when it's hard".
I'm not an English teacher but I think I'll get certified as one just to get these kids to learn to diagram sentences because clearly they can't decipher a simple sentence

There is something so bizarre about kids these days. I subbed 5th grade and these kids DO NOT STOP TALKING. What the heck happened that makes kids so unwilling to be quiet for even a moment?!?!? I gave them extra recess, not because they deserved it, but because I was about to cry from how overstimulated I was. There were only 16 kids and about half of them did want to sit quietly and read or do their worksheets, but even they were so overstimulated by the other half of the kids that could not fathom closing their mouths for even 12 seconds at a time
As I write lesson plans, the more I consider getting certified in a subject other than English. Trying to teach kids how to write a multi paragraph essay by spring when half of them can’t write a paragraph, and at least a fourth of them can’t write a complete sentence, is so frustrating because it reflects on MY teaching when test scores suck. They keep shoving data trainings at us thinking it’ll save test scores. I’m like… we KNOW how to access and interpret the fucking scores. Give us training as to how we can teach these skills better because something clearly isn’t working at our school or any of our feeder elementary schools. 💀💀
Dear parents,
Could y'all consider NOT screaming at your kids before sending them to school? Tell me why the SWEETEST boy came to me this morning before school SOBBING because his mother screamed at him over opening a bottle of syrup for his pancakes??? When he calmed down, he told me she had never yelled at him like that before. That she was so mean to him but he didn't understand what he did wrong.
Could there be more to the story? Absolutely. Parents are human. Children are human. Everyone has a bad day. But how dare you put your child in such a state of distress and send them off to school.
