Questions from loveaffairwiththelibrary
1. What was your favourite picture book growing up?
I'm not sure if it's really a picture book, but Geraldine's Blanket! I still read it every now and again - haven't read it for a while though because I've lost it!! :(
2. Are there any recent books you've been disappointed with? Were they talked up too much?
I read The Fault In Our Stars...I wouldn't say I was particularly disappointed with it, but I was expecting more from it! Also...The Perks of Being A Wallflower...although I didn't even get through the first chapter...it might be ok if I forced my way through it. I just feel like I'll be disappointed with it so I don't want to waste time reading it (if that makes sense!)
3. When did you start loving to read books?
I can't even remember...I've always loved reading! I could read before I started school and I was always excited about reading!
4. What's been your best second hand find?
I don't really buy that many second hand books. I always have a look in charity shops and see what they've got. I'd say the best book I've got from one of them is The Help...think I spent 30p on it. It's probably one of my favourite books now!
5. Do you have a favourite bookstore?
Not really. I'm one of those people that's killing the shops...I get most of mine from Amazon (I'm a student, I have no money!) Although books are really expensive these days. I used to like Waterstones though.
6. Did your parents ever read to you? What was your favourite book to be read?
I can't remember...they must have read to me at some point! But I can't really remember it. I only remember reading on my own! I used to love reading the Famous Five and Twins at St Clare's books though!
7. Favourite type of book edging? (e.g. deckled, gilt)
I'm really not that fussed! As long as I've got something to read, I don't really care what it looks like!
8. Your first 'classic' you read for fun?
Ugh...I read Jane Eyre for 'fun'. It wasn't fun at all...I keep saying I'll re-read it now I'm older! I don't know other than that. It was probably Pride and Prejudice (we did it for GCSE and I thought it was ok...but didn't re-read it until about 3 years later! Now I love it!)
My Famous FIve books! Or Lemony Snicket!
10. Do you have any books that you've been meaning to read for over 6 months?
I have a whole pile of books at home! Anna Karenina is top of that pile...I started reading it last summer! I feel like I've read loads but I'm not getting through it very quickly. It's good so far though! I'm going to go back to it at some point!
YES! I always swore I'd never get a kindle...it's now probably my favourite possession! I love it. Still love proper books though. Kindle's just easier to carry around, and read in boring lectures without getting caught!
