what are some really popular headcanons that y'all don't like? for me, I am SOOOOO TIRED of lesbian eva headcanons. it's only because she's masculine that people hc it and it just feels like a massive stereotype. and she's very often not shipped with others anyways, so it doesn't feel like there's a point to it. I'd like to see her bi or straight sometimes!
I also don't like headcanons of courtney having overbearing parents. she was in a band, dated a criminal publicly, and is on a reality tv show. her parents are not overprotective in any sort of way. she puts pressure on herself, and I like to see her dealing with the complications of that in fics rather than blaming someone else.
some other generic ones I don't like would be 'sterecra' as noah's last name or dj being aroace everywhere bc he's a black man. but lmk what y'all hate too.
Are there any specific characters or seasons from total drama you feel are overhated/underrated?
I feel like all characters tend to get a right amount of fans, but I'd say eva feels very underrated to me! she's underrated from both in the show and fandom, we get to see little content of her despite being friends with what i consider to be major/fan favourite characters like noah, izzy and in good terms with gwen seemingly! i always liked that she supported gwen in season 1 and would have loved to see a friendship form between them. eva is strong in her morals and stands her ground, she doesn't get affected by fame, nor driven by it, and i think gwen would definitely need someone like that! i feel like most of the cast is driven by fame, which is very normal because at the end of the day they are teenagers. i think eva adds a refreshing perspective for everyone, as she never got to compete fully into the show and also i feel like for friends she's very down to ground when she wants to be and knows when it's needed! she's a loyal friend and she's blunt when it can help someone <3 i think the fandom doesn't talk about her enough, she's so interesting to me and i just want to see her be friends with everyone <3 she's apart of the total drama ensemble too guys!! I also just really adore eva's design too, I always wanted to see more of her character <3 she is definitely one of my favourites!! I suppose a character that is *overhated* though, is courtney! i think people's opinion on courtney can be very divided, but she is by far one of the most overhated characters i have ever seen in all honesty, and i think it's a bit unfair. people tend to say courtney switched up in tda but she was the same person as she was in island. we've seen that clear, we just never got enough screentime to see more of her competitive drive and potential in island, so we saw it more in action. (and honestly, planning to rewatch action again because that season was so funny, i loved justins, izzy and lindsays screentime there too) and in world tour, i think she becomes even more likeable and in a way, realistic. she forms a friendship with gwen, puts aside her paranoias she had from action, and values their bond deeply. when she gets betrayed, she's obviously going to be crushed. she'll freak out. spite is the only thing that drives her now. she's hurt and emotional, so much so that she gets manipulated by alejandro. any person that just went through something emotionally breaking would become very vulnerable to being manipulated, so i always found it strange for people making fun of her for that or saying that it wasn't "the real courtney". people act like she's a robot but courtney has emotions. she has ideals and morals. even after getting manipulated, she still decides to support alejandro and put aside her grievances and grudge for what he did to her; because she can recognize game. it wasn't personal, she knew that. but what gwen did wasn't game to her, it was betrayal, it was personal, so she is fair in being angry for what gwen did. and that is why courtney felt so realistic to me! because these things felt consistent with her character. there is errors, of course, because total drama has issues with consistency, but i think they did okay in handling courtney's character from island to world tour in that element at least! i loved her character throughout and i am just so shocked she's overhated. i think the hate has died a bit down, but everytime i see a total drama fandom revival, people are always hating on courtney again. oh and, for seasons, i feel like roti and pahkitew is still pretty underrated to this day just because it's not the original cast. while i didn't personally enjoy pahkitew island a lot as i'd hoped, they are severly underrated! and i am obsessed with roti, i enjoy the cast a lot!! i would like to do a canon divergence au for it one day! just because i think there's missed friendships we could have seen, and also, more build up with some of them. thanks for the ask!! π

Eva | straight outta Lynwood by "weird Al" Yankovic
It seems like the Courtney x Eva tag doesn't exist, so FUCK IT, here's my case for this ship I thought up on a whim and promptly got obsessed with.
Early on in Island, Courtney tries to act as team leader, trying to hold this circus of misfits together against the Objectively Stronger Team that is the Gophers. Eva, being one of the Bass's strongest members, is on Courtney's radar, and Courtney tries to keep Eva's temper in check for the sake of the team.
If Eva didn't drop her mp3 player (meaning Heather doesn't steal it and Eva doesn't go ballistic over it), she stays and someone else (probably Harold) is voted out instead.
Courtney continues to essentially be Eva's coach, helping her with ways to manage her anger. Something about watching Eva destroy the other team in dodgeball or pick up an entire ass tree for a potential talent in the talent show makes Courtney feel a certain rush that she doesn't understand, but whatever it is, it drives her CRAZY.
They bond over music (Eva surprisingly likes classical music and thinks Courtney's ability to play violin is "kinda neat"). They share Eva's mp3 player on the canoe ride over to Boney Island. They both have one earbud in and the cord is pretty short so they have to lean towards each other. Compound that with the height difference and their faces being so close together and when did it get so hot-
Anyways, while all this is going on Courtney's still having her enemies to lovers arc with Duncan. Courtney experiences bi panic as she's stuck between a rock and a hard place. Liking a bad boy or possibly being gay in the mid 2000s.
Basic Straining comes 'round, Duncan and Courtney have their night of teen rebellion stealing all the good food. The Ducney kiss happens, only now, Eva's here to watch it all happen.
About ten minutes later, Eva's out in the woods punching a tree in anger over her seemingly unrequited feelings until her fists start to bleed, painting the tree bark red.
